04 Chevrolet Silverado 4.8L Reg Cab Short Bed w/ 55,000 Miles

Am considering getting a set of flowmasters on my truck. I do not want it loud in the truck but I do want it to sound good when ya get on it alittle.

I will get the chrome tips and all that.

Can someone give me a recommendation and also how much it was complete installed?

If you don't want inside noise, go with Magnaflow. I recently changed to Magnaflow from Flowmaster. I was a die-hard, many years Flowmaster fan, but I am way more satisfied with my current setup. I have better performance and a lot less noise inside.

I just did a muffler swap with a dump---muffler was 70 new from ebay; install was 50.

The cat back systems are do it yourself and pretty easy from what I have read/heard.

If you don't want to mess with ebay, www.performancepeddler.com is the cheapest I've seen. Visit magnaflow.com to find your part number and they have sound clips too.

If you get the Flowmaster 50 series muffler, you won't have noise inside but it'll sound great outside. That's what I had on my Dodge Ram and I LOVED it. I have a DynoMax on this new Chevy and it sounds good but it's too loud inside the cab. I'm going to get a Flowmaster 50 series muffler when I can afford it and replace this one.

I have the same unit in a 03. I am looking into a Gibson Super Truck set up. They have this exact combo, 4.8 and super truck sound clip on the Gibson website. I have found it hard to find 4.8 soundclips only 5.3 are usually availiable. IMO it sounds great. I do not know if I want to spend close to 400 for aluminized part though.
