1993 c3500 dually transmission trouble

i recently bought this truck a month ago. it has the 4l80e transmission, which shifts fine through 1 2 and drive, but it will not go into overdrive. occasionally, when i start it up, and take off for the first time, it will want to take off in second gear and not shift at all. if i disconnect the battery for a while, it will go back to shifting, but still no overdrive. all is stock, and it has the 4.10 gears. any help will be appreciated, thanks, bgboy

  Ha!! So GM Customer service, ive already been talking with someone on your email team and there is nothing they can do. So pretty consistent with everyone else’s experience- you can do NOTHING.. worthless emails. Sure glad i have 4 GM cars on our family cuz now its clear you dont care.. Sad and pathetic.
