2007 Yukon Denali Vs. Tundra

You know the guy....bought the Tundra because Consumer Reports said it was the best truck on the market. He bought his wife a Sequoia for the same reason. Started in on me about how the Tundra was the number one selling truck in America. I reminded him that the Tundra really wasn't a truck...and the only reason that it would sell more units than GM was because the retards that bought them wouldn't know a truck if it bit them on the azz. I guess that was insulting to him, so he started in about how his Tundra would out run my new Denali.

After we ran em, he was amazed, said that he never would have believed that a 5800 lb Denali would out run his truck like the mine did. Everyone talks big on the internet, but I gotta tell you, you would not believe how badly I out ran him unless you were there to witness it first hand. It was sweet revenge for me...same truck had outran my 04 Tahoe last year by about a fender in the 1/4. The Denali got him by at least 10+ lengths...I have to admit that I really don't know by how far, he was so far back there I can't even give an accurate estimate.

Thanks GM, for finally breaking out of the pack and giving us enough motor to humiliate the competition.

I love the new Denali. They're expensive but they are so worth it. i took it out for a test drive and punches it. Super quick for a 2 ton SUV

When I took my comparative test from the Yukon to other big SUV model, nothing beats the Yukon Denali. It's got more features and safety than the sequoia.

good kill btw

We ran it against an 04 Tahoe today because the Tundra guy was pretty sure his truck must not be running right. The way he talks up Toyota reliability, we are gonna get a lot of mileage out of that one. Anyway, same story with the 04 Tahoe. Time in the 1/4 can't be more than 2 seconds difference, but when you measure that distance at 100mph, 2 seconds looks like a mile. I guess if you do the math, at 100mph, if you are leading by 2 seconds you will be out front by about 293 feet. So dang close to 100 yards.

Actually, it's more closer to being a 3-ton SUV rather than a 2-ton SUV, but I'm just nitpicking--it's still a great SUV! Also, when you say "nothing beats the Yukon Denali"--are you comparing it to all others in the same class, from an absolute standpoint? 'Cuz if so...then I think the Escalade owners will probably beg to differ...

Perk--great kill! Reminds me of my Tundra story--this was back when I had my NBS YXL; I was just cruising on the freeway trying to pass this prev-gen Tundra and the guy decided he wasn't gonna let me go by him so he decided to go a bit faster. I bit, so I accelerated a bit more to compensate; he decided that at that point he wasn't gonna let me get in front of him period so he floored it (I'm pretty sure he did 'cuz he started to pull away from me a bit faster than previously). Anyways, I floored my truck; if it weren't for the speed limiter kicking in at 100 I would have caught him 'cuz I was slowly but surely reeling him in during the approx. 1/4 mile we were flooring our vehicles.

Of course, now that I have a DXL (not nearly as nice as your '07 though!), I won't have to worry about how long it would take to kill a Tundra...
