Ok guys been a while since ive gotten back on here lost my password and lost a good computer at work here...lol anyway i just called squries turbo and asked about putting a kit on my 04 seirra

the kit cat back: 3995

40lbs injectores: $300 needed to help supply the turbo

Nelson tun: $600 need new tunner ....i guess my hypertech load of crap wont understand what a turbo is...lol

and of course shipping about $150 and 5 days to pakage...

i figured this would be cheaper than the Magnacharger but wow not realy, so i figured by the time i take off my corsa and trash the hypertech ive lost alot of money just to make this work....my question is does this realy work like the trucks on there site? I want to do something cool but not shure what to think of the squires kit ...dont know anyone whos done it before.

I'd save the $5,000 or so and put it towards something else, thats just me though. You could do a ton of other stuff to your truck for that kind of money. Then again, I have no idea what that is, so...

i've ridden in a tacoma with a squires sysetem and dear god that thing was fun, the boost hit low and HARD for a little truck and honestly it was cool to feel the turbo boost map almost follow the RPMS so it got more and more powerful as it climbed and the blowoff was a really neat sound

They're supposed to do pretty well...The only thing I'd be worried about is the off-chance of your catalytic converter taking a crap...That would make an insta-grenade out of that turbo.

Yeah im with you wingnut, I dont know crap about these things and talked to squires but they of course make it sound to good to be true.....see what messes me up is that rear mount system id like to see something under the hood.

see im a supercharger guy i love to see that thing under someones hood and honestly for the same money i could do that. without gettin rid of any of my mods already done to the truck......then i thoght well how about just go to california and drive one of these things and see for my self ....im sure that would be a seller..

Another negative on this method of turbo packaging is the puddle factor. I'm sure splashing through regular puddles might not be an issue, but you could NEVER submerge it. Like deep water crossings, mudholes, and launching a boat...no ah ahh...

well you know i read the faq's on the site and they say that you would have to totaly submerge the vehicle to where water was coming int the doors before you suck up water throght the intake..

also they said that the turbo dosent get hot enought to break on contact of water, inwich some people were asking them...they say that with the turbo mounted in the rear it dosent get that hot.

agin im being stubron (or however you spell that) i just think this is cool and id love to buts these import bastards ass

The STS system does look pretty nice, It may just be me, but I'm afraid of all the supply tubing that is outside of the frame rail. What if you get hit on the passenger side. Not enought to total your truck, but enough to bend and dent the pipes. Is your truck not driveable at that point?
