Throttle Body

Recommended Posts

I looking to improve my trucks performance and gas mileage. I was looking at a Throttle body spacer, are they worth it? The one I was looking at is made by AirRaid. I am also looking at buying an AEM Brute Force intake. Please tell me what you think as I am not a automotive guru.

Thanks,

Joe

I don't think they do much but, if your gonna go with one get a CFM Technoligies spacer. They are the ONLY one with a patent.

Go to cfm-tech.com and check it out...they have a world of info on 350's

From everything that I have read and studied about spacers is they are great paper weights but do nothing for the performance of your truck.

I do have a Cold Air Intake system and it has helped my mileage and grunt from 2200 RPMs on up. I researched this far too much and went with the Trueflow system. It retains the factory airbox so it is a true cold air intake system. It will not make a lot of noise so if you are looking for intake roar, look elsewhere. I would encourage you to check them out on their website. It is a very high quality piece that will do exactly what they claim.

WTF? Have you ever used one?

These work BTW!

Everyones a mechanic when someone recommends something that others do not use. :D

A throttle body spacer will only work on a carburated or (wet system) FI or (dry systems will not respond to them. As for the larger T/B the OEM will support 8L engines anything larger will raise the power ban and lower fuel economy.

If you want more power and economy get a custom tune.

They do work on Throttle Bodies!

They just don't work newer EFI's :D

A TBI is a wet system like a carburator and will work to improve the atomization which happens directly below the carb. or TBI. Real FI systems have individual injectors and atomize air/fuel at the intake valve.

Check the only one out there with a patent...none of the others do.

It only makes sense your able to draw air from both bores instead of one.

So many make claims they can't back....

I have one that I put back in the box. It's for an 04' 5.3L. I'll ship it to you for $25. Besides making an annoying whistling sound, it looks cool.

Just because there is a patent dosent mean it works. I know personally that GM tested all T/B spacers along with everything the expermental lab could make work. Nothing would help performance or economy.

Come on..those fuel magnet dooly-mo-bobs have patents....Now you know they have to work....... :chevy::flag:

Its common sense more air more hp if u flow too muchn air ur gunna need more fuel if you read cfm's website they dont try to lie saying that you are going to gain a whole bunch of hp like the other companys do without the proper stuff like fpr and psi balanced injectors they actually say that if u put the spacer in the engine has a risk of running lean. Thats also why they sell inline fuel gauges and other parts to tune the fuel delivery. Becuase just throwing on parts and hoping they will work dosent cut it for them they actually go indepth and explain whay your engine needs more fuel air and exhaust and proper parts to make the engine run the best that it can.

That's exactly right and I can tell you ALL GM's are set lean PERIOD!

That why they make adjustable fuel regulators.

Also...show me ANY stats on where GM tested a CFM spacer and I'll shut up.

Your also comparing a proven throttle riser to something like a Tornado...

AND just because they don't work on later EFI's....don't be mad! :)

Y'all just can't admit your wrong :nono:
