4l60e junk question

i was just wondering if the 4l80e can replace the 4l60e because the 60e sucks big time and can't handle crap. i have an 05 and i wanted to know if a 4l80e bolt on and what else what i have to mess with if i wanted to do this?

I think the reason you can buy a "built" 4L60E is because the two trans's are a lot different. Different transfer case needed, different driveshaft, maybe different other things.

 

Maybe a "built" 4L60E is really what you want anyway.

You could look into a 4l70 that they put into the VortecMax. That will bolt right up. Plus it would handle the amount of grunt you're looking for.
