noise under load 4.3 s10 blazer 1989

I am getting a strange noise under load on my 89 s10 4.3 blazer.Started about a year ago. Not there on start up. After warm up starts .Seems to do it under load.I took off fan belt on cold engine but no noise .On warm engine no belt seemed to be a bit less.Changed oil and filter a few weeks ago ,hosed off under battery area,inspected cat. pushed and pulled on cat. and looked for anything loose but looked ok.Noise stopped for about 3 weeks. Got any ideas. Mike

What kind of noise does it sound like? A whine, rattle,etc? and under load, you mean not at an idle. If its gone, you fixed whatever it was.

Sounds like a lot on lifter rattle,if you let of the gas it stops,after 3 weeks it started up again. I thinking of running some sea foam stuff thru it. Does not sound like a ping or knock but I am wondering if it might be carbon build up.??????Thanks Mike

I understand your is a V6 and mine is a V8. But your engine and mine is very similar in design. Your is basically a V8-2. So please feel free to check out my symptoms and compare if you have the same.

 

If you find out some new info I would apperciate if you could share with me. I'll do the same.

 

At the moment I just poured 1qt of Risolene to 4qt of oil. The results: MAYBE a little quieter - but not sure.
