True Duals Vs. Single

Right now, the only exhaust mod that I have on my truck is a Magnaflow 14" SI/DO muff, with tips exiting straight out the back. My exhaust manifolds need to be replaced, and I'm going to order some shorty headers. I'm on a budget, so LT headers are out of the picture. I want to replace the cats, also, but before I order the parts, I had a few questions.

1. Are the edelbrock ti-tech ceramic coated headers any good? They're $279 at Summit.

2. Are there any aftermarket cats with a connection for an O2 sensor? Or are the O2 sensors in the pipe itself?

3. I've read that on the NBS trucks, you will lose some low end with true duals. Is this true? Would it be better to stick with just one muffler and a y-pipe, or should I go with an x-pipe and true duals? I like the sound of my magnaflow, but if I go true duals, it's going to be two aerochambers. I don't want to lose any low-end performance though.

4. I want to change the exit location from the split rear to a side exhaust infront of the right rear tire. Will this increase any interior resonance?

Any suggestions?

I think you should run stacks up the back of the cab.

Haha :) Yeah right! Stacks only look cool on older trucks, IMO. Even so, my toolbox is in the way

C'mon dudes, I need some help with this!

I have heard that on the newer trucks you will lose some low-end power. I think this is because of the amount of back pressure needed with the new heads on the engine. I would stick to the single then a Y. I have my exhaust ran out the side in the same location you want, the only issue is when I ride with the passenger window open. I get way to much exhaust noise then. I wish I had kept them out the back.

The Edelbrock TiTech's are great! I have set on my 94 TBI for two years now and they're holding up great.

Shorty Headers will not hurt your low end at all and it'll sound great :driving:

May even give it another 1 MPG
