01 sub w/o bose

I know there has been a few threads about the replacing the weak rear subwoofer in the yukons w/o bose. The subwoofer is in the rear cargo area. I know a few people have replaced these subwoofers with alot of sucess. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a replacement sub.

Replacing just the sub isn't going to do much and you probably won't be happy with the results. You could spend about 7-800 and go totally aftermarket and leave all the stock wiring in place. That way when you sell the vehicle you can revert back to stock rather quickly and install all your equipment in your next vehicle.

what about one of them 8 inch square kicker woofers? I was thinkin bout puttin one of them in my suburban. I want bass but not willing to give up any space to put in a box. I either need to replace my factory 8 inch woofer also, and I was also considering a small box to fit under the back seats. But then again, thats whare I was planning on putting my amps. I know a guy who mounted his amp to the rear side panel and ended up screwing a hole into his rear ac system, Freon started leaking. Thats why I planned on mounting the amps under the seats. Any suggestions?
