Charging A/C problem....

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban with dual a/c. I need to know the proper head pressures and low pressures at summer ambient temperatures for a refrigerant charge of R-134a. Any help woud be appreciated.

Don't sweat the pressures. Add refrigerant to low side until accumulator gets cold. Do not overfill. Compressor should cycle on and off at idle and low or medium blower speed. too much refrigerant (compressor never cycles) makes warmer air and uses more gasoline. Use minimum amount to get the accumulator cold.

Use a thermometer in the center dash vent, when the temp stops going down after about 1-2 minutes........stop adding R134a.
