xtegb16x Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 well i installed a new stereo in my yukon i kept the stock stereo still hooked up and i just spliced threw the wires of the oem radio to get ground power etc. and i installed it in the lower cubby everything sounds fine but when i turn it up loud ! the sound cuts off and i have to turn on and off my radio to get it back is it because of the bose system! thanx in advance
Wingnut Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I'd say that it's drawing too much current out of that one little line...So it's shutting down. And why in the world would you set it up like that? That's weird.
Chanks7 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I wired a line converter in after my bose amp and am running two 12"s with a 500 watt amp and mine does that every once in a while as well. Check and make sure that the purple wire on the amp connector isnt grounding anywhere in the console cause that will shut down the amp as well.
