instrument illumination

2003 2500hd has the right side instrument illumintaion out on it and as it was going to dealer for check service asked what it would cost to replace the dash bulbs. Was told would need to send in instrument cluster for $350 guess that little penlight is worth more than i thought. Are those bulbs serviceabe or was the dealer corect in their assesment. thanks

Just had my cluster repaired, lights were out and the message center was not working. It was sent out and swapped for a new cluster. Works now. Cost me $230 with tax. Took about 4 days. Don't know any details about the bulbs though.

unfortunatly the bulbs on the 03+ clusters are not replacable. They are not LED's or anything. Not sure about the 99-02 clusters...
