Installing New Thermostat

Hello,

 

I have an 88 gmc c1500 1/2 ton with 350 5.7L. I am trying to install a new 190 degree thermostat but I can't seem to locate where it should go. I thought it was on the water pump but it dosen't seem to be it. Any tips or tricks on how to remove the old one and what I should seal (if anything) the new one with.

Follow your top radiator hose to the intake manifold. You should see a small housing at the end of the hose. The stat is located inside.

 

Be careful when tightening the bolts back after the install. Make sure you tighten them equaly as you go down. If you don't, you will be on your way back to the parts store for a new housing.
