What are these yellow blocks on the A-Arms?

Please pardon my ignorance but I just bought a new '06 GMC 2500 CC Short Bed 4x4. It's been a while since I have owned a GM truck so when I saw these yellow 'blocks' above the lower A-Arms I didn't remember seeing (or at least in bright yellow) on my other GM trucks before.

Are these supposed to be there? It just seems odd that they are bright yellow and I wondered if they are shipping blocks to limit chassis movement when the truck is strapped down on the carrier. Seems like they would severely limit potential suspension movement but maybe they're supposed to be there to do just that.

Any info? Can I/Should I remove them?

Those are your "jounce bumpers".......I wouldn't remove them. They are a vital part of the way your truck rides.

I just didn't remember any bright yellow blocks on my previous trucks' suspension but like I said, it's been a couple of years since I had one.

Great truck though!

Don't worry the bright yellow will wear off after the first snow fall and the black paint and the sticker identifying the shocks; yep,it'll be a nice dull rust brown by the end of winter.

I think those were black on my truck, but I'm not sure. I do know they are supposed to be there.

It seems that they are not just bump stops, but an additional spring for the suspension. Notice the stop to the rear on the bushing and the lower a-arm? That is the bump stop part.

I bought my truck used, so the front ride height may or may not have been stock, but it was kind of low, and I think that bushing was touching. I bought a set of Timbrens (extra load support for my plow) and they say to set the height so there is 1/4" clearance between the bushing and the lower arm.
