wakeing up a L31 Vortec

Looking for ideas for the Suburban (see my sig)

 

What I have done:

 

Removed the lid from the airbox, using a K/N Filter.

 

Removed the restriction from the Throttle body (the half moon thing on the blade) Btw that really helped on the low end.

 

Rest is stock.

 

I know that a tune will help, and exhaust too. How restrictive is the stock manifolds verses a shorty header? I know that on the LS engines, you need Long tubes to get any real gains.

 

My plans so far are to get electric fans, a cat-back exhaust and a pcm tune. any other recommendations that dont brake the bank?
