Adding Nav to 2003 Suburban

I have read several posts on this and other forums and am somewhat confused about my options. I wish to add a nav unit to a 2003 Suburban already w/ Bose, XM, steering wheel controls, and OnStar (no Y91 indicated in glovebox, though).

What is the newest OEM part #'s that are compatible that are also recommended by others? (that is, I have read that some of the nav units like the 2006 are horrible and not to bother) What part number should I be searching for? Is touch-screen capability possible?

Thanks for any help you can offer --

Link for Part Numbers

I don't want to advise you any further since I'm not 100% sure about which part numbers you need. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

For my application (2003 Yukon Denali), all I needed was a 15800001 p/n head unit and the GPS antenna. Plug and play for me.

Note that you still need a GPS antenna and map disc, and that you would not be able to run navigation and listen to CD audio at the same time. The head unit alone can only do one or the other. You need a CD changer to do both at the same time.

The 15800001 number pmaggan mentioned is the lux unit and will not work for your suburban unless you also change to the lux amp and modify the amp wiring. That's what I did:

I was in your same shoes just a couple of months ago. I will tell you this much depending how much you want to spend you can installed the right unit that belongs to the type of vehicle you have (NON-LUX radio) Or you can also get a LUX radio and have it reprogrammed to be a NON-LUX and it will work flawless. That is how my radio was done because there are very few on ebay that are NON-LUX. I also got the Touchscreen and it works great. If you have any more questions let me know and I will try to answer them.
