Power for Radar Det. 02 Tahoe

Trying to hard wire a Valentine One in an 02 Tahoe. What is the easiest place?

In case he doesn't see this, send MarkD a message.  He has one hardwired.

It's not hard at all all I did was run it to the fuse box, and unplugged a fuse and than sandwich the detectors wire between the fuse and the fuse plug.  And than take the other wire and ground it to the chassis.  Hope this helps.

Let me look for a pic.  I removed the panel below the steering column and looked for a switched power source.

One of the wires going to the compass mirror is switched.  I think it's brown or pink.  Where do you plan to mount it?

Yeah, I decided to mount it near the fuse box because of the bulky converter and easy access to the in-line fuse.  Oh,  I am also installing the remote display (another plus to locating the converter at the fuse box).

I tapped into one of the wires behind the radio. I think it was orange.  It only has power when the key in on.  Use a multimeter and probe it with key on and off.  I love how its wired i never have to worry about leaving it on.
