Hello,

I am having a problem with a grinding noise on very low speed turns. IE Turning into a parking space. I have 20700 miles on the truck and just had the intermediate steering shaft lubed.

It actually sounds like the power steering pump whining/grinding when I make the turn. its only done it 2-3 times, but it is very loud.

Any ideas on where to start looking?

I would check the steering fluid level...

I had what I think is the same problem on my 02 Yukon. Someone on this site

recommended a complete flush of the power steering system. I did this at home

in about an hour and it worked. No more slow speed moaning while turning.

I had to extract the fluid since I could not find a drain. So I repeated the extract/fill/run process a few times till the fluid went from dirty to clean.
