2006 Bose Premium System Q's

I'm a bit confused...

I have replaced my factory HU but I chose to keep the stock Bose Premium Speaker System.

I used the Metra GMRC-01 harness and all seems to be working.

Two issues I've noticed though are the system seems to now have a constant hiss (audible when AC is off) and I've noticed that the volume control range is limited.

For Example: My HU has a range of 0 - 32 and If i put it past 12 I'll go deaf. And there's not much volume difference between 1 - 4. It seems to be either too quiet / no volume or starting to get pretty loud quickly

Am I missing something in this setup? Is the GMRC-01 causing the issues?

you will have better volume and the hiss will go away. the chime is annoying. and fron to rear fade is useless. ide sacrifice chime (which they do sell an add on chime module, but most people do not want it) and fade for better sq any day

Sounds to me like the radio speaker level outputs are being fed into the bose amps low level input.

Couldn't you just use the rca outputs on the new radio, chop the plug ends off the other end and and connect the rca wires to the amps input wires?
