HEllo, I just got done putting a new Brake booster, Master cylinder, and replaced both rear leaky Wheel Cylinders, Bleed the brakes, along with a flush of the old lines. and the pedal is still squishy. I am now assumming that it is a malfuntion with the ABS system. My code reader can not pull the code from the system, I was looking for some one opinion on what it might be, and how I can go about fixing it. The ABS light is on. I really hope I dont need to go to the dealership for this ($$$$ money is an ISSUE)

I have a 95 Tahoe engine code K 350 4x4, 4 door, mainly stock if that matters

thanks alot...

oh yea, I also changed the rear shoes too

its not a big part, I cant remember the name right now but it has to do with the disk to drum brakes converter.

The part you are thinking about is problem the brake proportioning / combination valve.

I doubt that is the problem

Most likely it is the abs module and or pump assembly.

When you bleed that brake did you cycle the abs pump to bleed the air out if it?

When doing a brake bleed after replacing the master cylinder.

Did you bleed the master cylinder before putting it on, then put the master cylinders on, then bleed all the brake lines at the 4 wheels, then cycle the abs pump (requires tech I or scanner that can do the job), then rebreed at all 4 wheels, repeat if necessary

In the absence of a Tech 1 or 2, you can go out and slam the brakes on to initiate a ABS activation. Do this 4 or 5 times and re-bleed the brakes. You might have to do this more than once.

Thank you very much for the info, I did bench bleed the master cylinder before putting it in the truck, so Im good there, I did not know about bleeding the abs system or did not know it was nessary unless it was replaced, or cycled somehow when brake lines were disconected. I will try GM-TECH's methoud tom. and see what happens

Find some dirt or gravel road so you don't have to brake as hard to activate the abs.
