Genuine Gear???

I got a quote from four wheel parts today to re-gear my truck with 3.73's and they said that they would use Genuine Gear and that they are just as good at OEM, are they blowin smoke up my ass or are they really good gears. Because they quoted me $600 for the gears installed

What is the warrranty on the gears? With that price quote I am guessing you have a 2WD. If they have a lifetime warranty against defects and workmanship then IMHO that's really all you need to know, although you would still have to pay the labour to have the RE & RE done.

Well, you can't beat that and I don't think anyone else can offer anything better. I have never been a big fan of 4 Wheel Parts but I think the price you are getting is pretty good and if you feel that they will honour the warranty without any hassles then IMHO I would go for it.
