Can we trust UPS, USPS, FedEx or others??

Just some info for everyone. I placed a nice order from Year One for parts for my 65 Impala SS. They were offering a nice discount so I placed a nice sized order. Well my package arrived quick. I opened it up and inventoried it. Everything was there but my floor mats. So I call up Year One and explain to them that I just received my package and when I inventoried it that my floor mats were missing. I also told them that the box was taped shut and the staples that looked like were used to hold it closed were no longer holding it closed but the tape was. The individual at Year One said that they staple their box's close and it sounds like the box was opened and UPS taped it shut.

Sounds like to me that some one in the shipping line some where along the way saw it was a box from Year One and opened it up to see what was inside and felt the floor mats would work in their vehicle.

It is sad that you can't trust anyone anymore.

A friend of mine sent his injection pump out of his 91 Jetta via USPS to have overhauled from the same place that did mine and when they received the package there was a starter in it.

I guess it is to the point that if you send anything remotely important you better insure it and keep all the paperwork. :smash:

What I'm seeing more and more of, is that the USPS is subbing out their shipment handlings.

Fed-ex seems the most dependable of them all, but oh well, like Black02 said, you can't trust anyone anymore.

Not as much as you might think. We just contracted with FedEx for certain air shipments, but the funny thing is that we deliver some UPS and DHL shipments.

As far as dependability goes, everyone has their pros and cons. I wouldn't give anyone the edge so far. That's why the competition is stiff.

When I went throught training, we were told that if we ever got to the point where we started becoming curious as to what's in the packages, we should quit the job. I believe it's true.

BTW, you can trust me.

Because of our remote living area UPS and USPS are the only ones that will deliver to us. The rest won't drive out. We have to drive into town to pick them up (50 miles one way).

You mean your house is 50 miles out? That is how far you have to drive to the grocery, gas, auto parts, BlockBuster video, Beer???

How close is a neighbor? Now that is out there.

Naww gas is much closer....45 miles. Actually there is a small gas station 1/2 mile away but "expensive" doesn't even come close to describing their price. I only fill there if I don't have enough to make it in to town. Always leave town on a full tank, just part of life.

I'll go to town for groceries about every 2 weeks. Just buy most everything in bulk, Costco is my friend. As for car parts, I own all chevy's...who needs replacement parts??? . About half the time I use the online stores, otherwise I'll run to Checker or Napa when in town.

There's about 20 people who live here year round. Mostly Forest Service employees, couple highway dept. guys, and one state trooper. Nearest human to me is 3/4 mile away. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Think about this though. While I physically live a long ways away, It takes me less time than a lot of people living in big cities to get anywhere. I can be in Missoula in 45 minutes. Some peoples commute to work is longer than that because of sitting in traffic.
