car insurance gimmicks

What’s your favorite car insurance gimmick? The talking gecko? The gruff cowboy? What makes you feel the most automotive safety?

I like the new one from Mercury (www.mercurytheory.com). If you haven’t seen it they are making the claim that the owners of Mercury are from Mercury and they’ve got all the corroborative evidence including a 10X magnification of burnt toast (check out the slides) that proves everything. Makes me chuckle.

My favorite gimmick is reasonable rates, and a courteous staff that knows me by name.

The local Farmer's brokerage has been good to us up here, and the Farmer's brokerage that I used when we lived in California was also very good. I haven't been able to beat their rates, and they've always treated me well when I've needed them.

I love that geico caveman commerical where hes at the airport and the song remind me from royskopp comes on...I just love the commercial because of the music and it is clever.

Ditto, Something about it just cracks me up. The walking backwards on the walkway and the way he rolls his eyes and throws his hands up at the end. Just hits my funny nerve for some reason.

The caveman thing is halarious. The talking gecko never was funny to me. I like the geico commercial when they have the guy who does that voice for the movie previews. That would be sweet to be able to talk like that.

I like the Geico ad with the cavemen, too, but I think my favorite is the Mercury one where the "UFO expert" is convinced that he's found evidence in the backwoods of some hick state, and he meets said hick and the guy shows him the "alien" and the ufo expert is like "That's an armadillo".

You can see it on the site I posted in the initial post (that's why I try to always include a link to whatever I'm talking about), once the site is loaded you click on the TV in the upper right corner (it says "video evidence"). They have all the commercials from that series on there, my fave is the 4th one "Captured". Cute gimmick.
