2007 Yukon ( Lights Flicker and Dim)

Recommended Posts

I have noticed since I got my Yukon 1 month ago, that at night my lights will dim at times when I do the following.

Honk Horn - Fog lights flicker

Put up Windows Lights and Fog Lichts

Turn on Rear Defrost

I have noticed flouctuation in the Amps too. Some days I am over 14, other days I am at like 11 or 12,its hard to tell exact nunbers. This seems lower than normal and I am afraid I may have an alternator issue.

It just started getting cold out, lows about 32 so far, and no signs of trouble cranking over.

It can be quite normal for headlights to react to the addition of heavy electrical loads being added to the system. It depends on how sensitive to the dimming you are.

You should check the battery and alternator connections however. Slight but noticeable fluctuations in system voltage are normal.

As far as the amps my tahoe does the same thing...owners manual says its normal since the system is not charging all the time

Your talking Volts, not Amps just to be clear.
