Best Brake Pads?

Recommended Posts

Upon rotating my tires today, i found my front brakes flawless...they're beautiful for 2 years on a truck. Then i got a look at my back brakes.

Everything needs to be done...and i mean everything. EBrake cable snapped, so the ebrake shoes rubbed to nothing on the rotors, the pads are gone, and the rotors are warn.

Im looking to buy OEM rotors on ebay cuz they're cheap...but does anyone recommmend a pad to use? These pads hang up and squeak on the truck as i drive, and im looking to invest in the best pad so that my wear is minimal.

So, what are the best rear pads for my 2wd 99 Silverado SWB?

DO NOT go cheap on your brakes, especially if you tow anything.

I would buy OEM rotors and go with Raybestos Quiet Stop pads or go with Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads from www.buybrakes.com - free shipping :ughdance:

Matt, If you have a CARQUEST, go for the GCD Gold Ceramic or GMD, Gold Metalic. They are supplied to us by Raybestos but are built to different specs and are formual specific. Not every car and truck need the same material in a pad and our pads are specific to the vehicle. The Gold line is our absolute best with the Blue line being more in line with the OE Pads. They are Guaranteed to be quiet as long as the job is done correctly.

If you do not have a CQ, find a reputable Raybestos retailer.
