Supercharger

I have a 2003 gmc with the 4.8L V8 and i'm trying to decide weather or not to buy supercharger. i'm not sure what modifications will have to be made and how the truck will handle it. I'm also intrested in what is good or bad and what brands or makes are better. any information would be very helpful. If anyone happens to have a used one for sale i am also interested.

most super chargers are designed to be safely strapped to a stock motor. because if you had to crack open the engine for any supercharger install than they wouldn't sell many to begin with.

 

As for packages themselves you could do i twin screw like a whipple or a magnacharger or you could go centrifugal with a vortech or the like there of. Or hell you could go with an STS Turbo system. There are a few of most of these superchargers floating around on the forum so many can give better ideas than me.

You first need to beef up the tranny. It's cheaper to beef it up now, before you burn it up and have to rebuild it with better parts.

hmmm interesting...well i was scared about the transmission thing. the sts turbo looks good but i would still rather a supercharger. thanks for the help guys. and i'm still open for suggestions.
