I'm having a problem with a ticking sound from under my dash. Its the same sound the turn signal makes when its on. But the signal will be off and it will still make the sound. It usually starts when i use my signals or my wipers with the washer fluid. Its driving me crazy please help!!! This problem is with my 2000 gmc z71 sierra

Probably one of the a/c actuators, which has been discussed here more times than I care to count.

When it's making the noise, try turning one of a/c controls (left temp, right temp, mode, etc.) and see if that changes the noise. If one of them does change it, it's that actuator.

I just had the same problem, but the fix isn't cheap. My flasher would tick 24/7, even when signals weren't on. The signals themselves worked normal, would cancel after the turn, but the sound from the flasher kept going. Took to the the stealership, and they told me the multi function swith was shorting out. This is the entire signal arm, with the cruise, w/s washer, signals and emergency flasher. Cost $380.00 for the part, and $100.00 labour. You can buy off e-bay cheaper, but no warrenty if something goes wrong. Good luck
