Rear Climate Control Problem w/'02 Yukon XL

Recommended Posts

The rear climate control is not producing any air circulation at any setting. I checked all of the fuses. No Luck.

Could my problem be a bad rear blower motor? Where is the rear blower motor located?

Any help is appreciated.

When I turn on the rear heater/ac in my '00 Yukon SLE, the brunt of the air seems to be coming from the rear passenger side when putting it on the lap looking setting on the control. I suspect the blower may be on the right side in the very back behind the panel. Sounds like the motor may be shot. I have a haynes(I think) at home, when off work I'll check it out and get back to you unless you figure it out, double check your fuses some look okay but may be blown. I ran across that installing stereos, not real common but has happened. I use a meter and check for open/closed ciruits with that.

No, I checked the switch. I checked the control module with a circuit tester and couldn't find a live wire. Yet, the controls illuminate when the headlamps are on.

I haven't had time to check the fuses or rear blower, but I will.

There is a relay and assembly in the back which can actually melt. This happened on our O2 Tahoe.

You need to check the blower assembly in the rear passenger panel to see if it has burned or melted. It does happen, and it's about $300 to fix if you're out of warranty. You need to remove the panel to check it out. The smell is a good sign that you had something get hot and melt.
