hard steering

hey guys i'm new here at this site I'm am looking for a little info. I have a 1999 GMC Sierra 4 x 4 5.0. I backed out of the bank when I made a right turn the steering was real hard like I lost my power steering. the wheel comes back good & it turn to the left good. it is really bad at low speed but you can tell something is wrong at any speed. fluid level is fine & power steering pump is less than a year old. Thanks for any info you can give

It's your muffler bearings

Just f***ing around, mine does it once in awhile as well, not enough to really bother me

My power steering comes in and out sometimes too, than again, I have a constantly forming puddle of power steering fluid under my truck, but the fluid level doesn't appear to be dropping(but it is PS fluid, since its leaking from the box). It's on my repair list. I have a 1996 by the way, and these boxes do need replacement after a while, at least thats my understanding of it.

fluid level is fine no leaks power steering pump was replaced less than a year ago
