Exhaust System

I got a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab and a friend of mine is selling a brand new set of Edelbrock Shorties for like 250 bones, I'm pretty sure I can get a better deal. they are ceramic coated and they look pretty nice too. The Q's are

1. Should I get them?

2. Is there going to be any performance in the truck?

3. will it be worth the install?

Eventually I will install a dual Magnaflow system, and some other Q's are....

1. Should I get 2X Single in Single out?

2. what about 1X single in Dual out?

3. or 1X Dual in Dual out?

I'm assuming High flow CATS and an X-Pipe will be somewhere included.

Any recommendations will be welcome.

I've heard alot about shorties not doing much more than the stock manifold you have now. To get any kind of gain long tubes are the way to go. I bought my truck used and already had aftermarket exhaust on it so I don't know what brand it is, but I have 2.5 dual in and 2 dual out...I think. I'm not an expert on this issue but this is what I've heard.
