Dual Battery System?

Iv'e got the dual battery system in my '01 2500HD CC 4x4, but have not seen much info on it.

 

I had an aftermarket dual system in my '95 Z71 that would not allow both batteries to go dead, so I could always get started.

 

 

Is my 2500HD similar?

You might have Trailer Towing package which includes an extra battery for the camper/trailer. It is controlled by its own relay, follow the 8 ga wires back to the relay, only comes on with ign switch in ign position. This assumes you have a gas engine.

 

If you have a diesel, then, you'll have 0 ga. wire from the batteries and they are tied together in parallel, meaning they will both be used/charged at the same time.

I've got the trailer towing package with the 8.1L gas.

 

So if I have the key in the ACC position, run down the battery, I should be able to still get started because the relay was off?
