Fuel mielage result of 6.2

Just came back from a trip to EAst Tx, in the denali XL, about a 375 one way trip, i did some measurements with the mpg, going 75 with the cruise on i averaged 18mpg, mostly interstate driving with some exit changes. When i got off the interstate i had approx 50miles of highway driving crusing at 60 i averaged right at 20mpg with the denali, which is freaking awesome. Score one for GM on making a huge, powerful vehicle that actually does pretty good on fuel.

Where'd ya go?

congrats on the mileage by the way. I make a trip from Nacogdoches to Dalhart a few times a year (750 miles one way). I can get from 16 to 20 mpg depending on how fast I want to get home.

My dad has been doing business in East Tx for the past couple years from outside of beaumont, hemphill, Kountze"sp", Lufkin, pretty much all of east Tx. They had about 120,000 acres in East Tx. Most of it's sold know, but we still have a real nice place on Toledo Bin. It's about a 6hr drive from where i'm at so we don't get to make it nearly as often as i would like, but we had the weekend off and decided to make the trip. The lake is still down really low so it looks like poop. But the ride was real nice in the denali, i was real surprised the 6.2 did so good on gas, i think it's mostly due to the rear axle ratio "3.42 i believe" but still suprising to me.

Is that with the 6-speed? What kind of RPM's are you turning at 75MPH?

I have a 07 Denali with just over 13,000 miles and the avg for 700 gal of gas is only 14.2 MPG. I can get better on just hwy trips but its the CITY driving that kill it. Tim

Yeah i'm only getting about 14.6 overall avg. But on highway, and interstate it's pretty darn good. I just hope my new rig does this good and i'll be verrry happy, vortec max, cc with the 4.10
