Ok I know I may be at fault here so I need to know if I'm screwed. I already had the Diablo performance tune on my truck. Went to change tune to the 87 octane tune and programmer stopped midway saying there was an error. Now the truck won't start. All electrical works. DIC now says stability track disabled( I am unable to turn it on) Also gas gauge reads empty(although it is full). Programer wont do anything know just keeps asking if ignition is on(which it is)

Did I kill my ECM? Is buying a new ECM in my future? Also if I need to purchase an new ECM will my warranty from here on out be void?

Dig out the owners manual. Call the Chevrolet assistance number. Just tell them that it will not start. Tell them nothing else. They will pay for towing and repair. Been there, done that.

One thing that you can try is to put the stock program back in it, sometimes programming a chevy vehicle will set off the theft deterant system and the vehicle won't start.... If you're lucky that's all that happened and you'll be able to reload the stock program and it will work fine.

I was under the impression that he could not even communicate with the PCM after the failed programming event. This is usually what happens. You cannot put the original calibration back in because you need to be able to communicate with the PCM to do so.

That's correct, unable to get the programer to read the PCM at all. So I can't restore factory program. I'm now done with programers since I don't see how I could have prevented this from happening(other then using a programmer in the first place) Program was downloading when it came up with an error then all else is history.

if you are going to the dealership, you might want to consider just buying a tuned PCM from a programmer like PCMforless. Probably $300 or so.

You can also call them (Bryan) and he will tell you if you can get yours going. They have a website you can look up if interested.
