07 silverado Dmax/Ally

Took the plunge and purchased a 07 Silverado LT(name change might be in order) CC SB Dmax/Ally, pick it up Wednesday-20th.

Being that this will be my first diesel I would like to ask what one should watch for especially and the do's and don'ts.

I know some about diesels as my brother-in-law, has the older 03 diesel and one of his friends has the newer 06 diesel.

I purchased the old style Silverado, cheaper and I really don't like the new interior, IMO has that cheap plastic look like ford and dodge.

I realized that after I posted.

I'm thinking most of you clicked to see a pic and nothing...........oops.

I don't pick it up till Wednesday. I'll take pics when I get it home.

Anyway way no advice so far...........

Welcome to the diesel world! My dad bought a 06 Dmax and it is his first diesel and he loves it. The best resource we found has been www.dieselplace.com TONS of Duramax info on there.

Well here it is, with the weather here its hard to get a decent(clean) picture of anything that moves.

Ive been told by several Chevy owners with the dmax and ally tranny, is to soon change the engine oil and the tranny oil after you buy it. especially if you bought it brand new.

they say they have had much better luck with them lasting longer. IDK just repeating what i heard, and it wont hurt to do it.

BTW it looks great!! just need a 6" lift and 35's lol
