I'm looking into getting a tonneau cover for my truck. My Dad has one of the hard ones that raises up, but its a pain to put on and take off when you need to carry something big.

I was looking at some of the soft covers and also some of the hard ones that are either tri-fold or that slide and roll up on a reel.

I know these are not completely weather proof, but which ones would be better for keeping things dry and also easy to put on and take off. I have some I have been looking at:

Hi I ve got 06 crewcab and bought the extang saber, I know its not one it looks like u might be looking at. \But just wanted to put my imput in .

I Hate It, for the simple reason of it is such a pain to roll up by yourself

well i'll make sure i stay away from that one. i would prefer not to get a roll up in the sense that it rolls up and is tied up. i think they look crappy.

I'm running a Lund Tri-Fold and love it. It comes completely assembled and can be installed in about 2 minutes. You can fold it up to expose part of the bed or completely remove it by yourself in under 2 minutes for hauling tall items. Been using it for over a year now, and it keeps my bed dry.

I also have the Lund Genesis Tri fold. I love the fact that it only takes ten seconds to get it off and about one minute to put it back on. Oh yeah, it also folds up. (DUH)

How weatherproof is the cover? also i have the bed rail caps and a spray in liner, will that affect the install any? Also i have read online that some of the parts are plastic with the clamps and people wish they were metal. what is the quality of all the parts?

I have an over-the-rail spray-in liner and doesn't affect the installation or the use of the cover at all. All parts seem to be made well. The only part that could potentially be a problem in extreme cold weather, is the cam locks which are made of heavy plastic and could possibly crack if you forced them closed when closing the cover if you didn't have them adjusted properly. As previously stated, I've been using mine over a year now, and haven't got a drop of water in the bed.
