Best MPG

Are you pulling anything?  are you loaded up?  or are you just hauling your own Butt?

Just my own butt

I would say that the 4.10 would give you better MPG since it's a higher ratio axle. I might be wrong but since the engine should be turning slower you should get better mpg.

I would think the 3.73 would be better for out right pulling.

See what everyone else has to say first tho.

3.73 will give you better mileage, 4.10 better pulling power.

My guess, and its a guess since I dont know what RPM each would be running at 70MPH, would be the 6.0 with the 3.73.

But if the 4.10 puts the 5.3 in its happy band at 70MPH the 5.3 would do better.

Or if at 70MPH the 6.0 is in a bad rpm range it will suck.

I do not have an '07 but my '02 Yukon XL with 4.10s gets better MPG than many I know with 3.73s. I am averaging 18.6 with most of this being rural roads and city driving. I can get over 21 if I am on the hwy only.

It has a great deal of how and where you drive. If you primarily run the interstates at 75 to 85 MPH a 3.73 is likely going to produce the best MPG. If you drive on rural roads at 60 or less with some city driving mixed in, the 4.10s will make better MPG. My 5.3 really likes the 4.10s when towing my 6400 lb Camper. The gears put the little 327 right in it's "sweet spot" and it just tugs away and gets 12 MPG while doing it.
