Trouble Codes

Fellows, I've got a friend that has a 2002 Tahoe w/ a 5.3L engine that has the following trouble codes: P0171, P0174, P0300. I cleared the codes once and a few weeks later they came back. I know what the codes are but has anyone run into a similiar issue and if so where is a good place to look for the culprit? All responses are appreciated.

clearing codes isnt going to fix anything, all you do is clear all moniters for the obd2 and then your vehical will go through the proper drive cycle for 3 to 7 days depending and the moniters will run or test and and see the same emission realated problems and pop up again, you have to fix the problem then clear em. that will work. i can look up the codes tomorrow at work if you need them and maybe offer a possible fix, if you kno what the codes are, then let the be known and im sure some of us on here can tell you how to fix them if you dont kno. sorry if you kno this already, just seems like you think clearing the codes with out fixing the problem will work. i donno. good luck man.

I realize that clearing codes isn't going to fix anything....I cleared them to see if the problem would resurface. I already know what the fault codes represent but I'm looking for a place to start troubleshooting. Thanks...

Oh gotcha, well look up the codes and tell us with they mean. i would get a book or go on alldata to read up on the possibilities of what those trouble codes are caused by. if it is setting a check engine light it can only have to do with emission realated components not being right...
