True Flow air intake system

I just installed a True Flow air intake on my 2005 GMC 2500HD, 6.0. I'm not sure if I gained anything in fuel mileage or power. Seems that the performance is the same, could have been a wast of $215.00 Any one have any experence with the system or any others? Thanks....

I have had a TF set up on my 5.3L Yukon XL for over a year and I cannot say that I feel anything earthshattering under normal driving. However, when I have my 6500 lb Camper hooked up the TF set up for sure helped my "grunt" from just above 2,000 RPMs on up, which is just where my engine runs with the 4.10 gears.

As far as MPG, I had an average of 17.41 using 8 tanks to arrive at my average. After the TF was installed the next 6 tanks average came to 18.19. Not a lot but a little. I am not averaging 18.6 with the TF and 93 octane fuel. This is on mostly rural roads with some city mixed in. It will get over 21 on pure hwy driving.

I bouught it because I did not want an open air element and I believe the factory air box provides more than enough air and it is truly a "cold" air intake system. It also is as quiet as stock unless you have your foot in it and this was important to my Wife.

I also was very impressed with the qualtiy, fit, finish and appearance of the TF set up. It is a nice looking high qualtiy piece.

Thanks Trey, I agree that the factory airbox fit is the best way to go, really that was the reason I went with TF. I've always liked the OEM airbox. My 6.0 is not getting near the fuel milage your getting with your vehicle, to the best of my knowledge and figuring I was getting about 13.5 per gal before TF and now maybe I've gained a mile or two at the most per gal. That is all around country roads, I have not had any highway travel yet for comparision.

I'll be pulling a 25 foot enclosed trailer with a decent load and hopefully as you said the TF will give me what I need.

Trey what do you think about an exhaust? Would that be worth the trouble for more mileage and power?

Thanks again for your help.

I am not expert but I was considering replacing the exhaust on my Yuk but was real concerned about increased noise since this is my Wife's daily driver. I researched this and the general concensus is that a more free flowing exhaust system will offer some extra HP at very high RPMs but will hurt your tq and hp in the lower to mid range. This is not what I was looking for. It seems that our trucks need a certain amt of back press and GM has done a good job with the factory system.

I have real duals and some nice Maremont Vortex single baffle mufflers on my 71 Chev PU and I love the way it sounds. I call it music, my wife calls it noise.
