Trans flush & fill

Is there an article on doing a trans flush for 2002 Silverado 1/2 ton? If not, can anyone give directions? Thanks!

Amsoil offer some excellent detailed instructions on their website.

 

Cliff Notes version:

1) Drop pan change filter and put back up.

2) Add 4 to 5 qts of new fluid

3) Detach trans line going into radiator or aux trans cooler if equipped with one

4) Have some one start the truck,

5) From the disconnected line, pump a qt or 2 out into a clear glass container and kill the engine

6) Add a couple of qts of new fluid

7) Repeat process until the fluid coming out of the line looks as good as what you are pouring in.

8) It will take apprx 16 to 17 qts to get all the old out.
