Low Idle??????

2007 Silverado Classic.. with a 5.3 what should the RPM be when at Idle???

 

It seems so low that it almost acts like a misfire... needle says about 550 rpm.

There is no spec. The idle speed is whatever the PCM wants it to be at the moment based on all sorts of factors. 550 sounds about right though.

 

They're not electric motors that run so smooth you can't feel 'em, so maybe what you have is normal.
