Nice truck and good job on your home page.  I love black, but I'll never have enough time to take care of it...  :D

Hey MountaineerTom, how do ya'll make those cool signiture pictures?  What program do ya'll use?

A friend made it for me.  Post some pics and I'll see if he can make you one.  (Or e-mail a few.)  I think he used Photshop or something similar.

Thanks for all the great comments.  As far as other upgrades in the near future include a Leer 100XL Truck shell on order will be here in 2 weeks and Westin Platinum CPS Step Bars.  I should have my wheels and Tires on within the next month.  I have the Wheels already Mickey Thompson Classic II's but tires are my hangup not sure which to get.  I am thinking Yokohama Geolander AT +II, BF Goodrick AT's (Pricey), or Cooper tires.  If you have any comments on the tires let me know?  I like the BFG At but at that price I am not too sure.  The size I am getting is 285/75R16.

Larry, supposedly BFG has quit doing the "price lock" thing, or what ever it's called, so they may be able to be found and some prices cheaper than in the past.  I havn't checked around yet though.  You may want to ask around and mention that to the tire shops and see what they say.  I also havn't found anything to use in writting, but still looking.  There is a thread in the Aftermarket Forum that has link to a place in Canada that sells the 285 BFG AT's for $125.  After S&H and any etra duties that have to be paid, they may still end up being cheaper that anywhere else, if BFG still does the "price lock" thing.

Larry, I have the Leer 100LE cap on my truck.  It has the carpeted headliner and I love it!!!  I had the CPS bars on my 1/2 ton Silverado excab and they were great...  I just ordered a set of the Westin chrome plated aluminum "Oval Tube Steps" for my HD crewcab.

Nice looking truck and web page. How well do you like the 8100 with the 6 speed and what kind of milage are you getting with it?

You're really testing the waters aren't you StepsideZ???  I know you are getting pretty itchy to buy one aren't you???   LOL!!!

Just get rid of the old Buick and pick up a new HD!!!!

Thanks for all the compliments on the truck.  Stepside I love the 8.1 6speed but All of my cars are manual transmission.  I personally don't watch the gas gauge but I did check it once and a mixture of City and Highway driving I was getting 13mpg.  I only have 950 miles on it so hopefully it will get better.  I only work 9 miles from my house and that is all Highway so it is not that bad.  I ordered my Leer 100 XL truck Cap last week should be here in a week or two got it for under a $1100.00 installed and my bars are being put on for free by them and I got them for 345.00.  My Uncle works at BlackJack Truck accessories in Lee's Summit, Mo. and he got me some good prices.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
