Verdict on the lean

I've read posts on leaning and find them all interesting. My question is...What is the prefered method to solve the left side lean? I have not done actual measurments, but it appears my HD CC leans a little over an inch and a half. Torsion bar tweaking seems to be the norm but will require an alignment, should I let the dealer do it? The truck only has 2900 mi. and I've never had much luck with dealers. I find the truck is never the same when it returns from the dealer. Suggestions/Advice

First off let me welcome you to the forum.

 

My HD CC was lower on the drivers side.  I checked the measurement at the fender and at the frame.  The fender measurement showed a greater difference than the frame.  I leveled my truck based on the measurements I took at the frame-rail figuring that was the truest way to measure.  I cranked the torsion bar on that side only to correct the problem.

 

My truck needed aligned because of an off center steering wheel (warranty covered), so I cranked the bar before I got the steering wheel/alignment taken care of.

 

My truck still shows a minimal lean at the wheel well (fender) but I know that is a bolt on item, and my truck is sitting perfectly level from side to side with 1/2 tank of fuel based on my frame measurements.

 

You can do it yourself and then ask for an alignment, or approach the dealer with a tape measure and express you concerns.  I would think the latter would be the best bet...

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to be on-board   This site provides some great advice and is a awesome tool for GM truck owners. Has GM identified or acknowledged the cause of the problem?

My 1500 leaned about 1 1/2 inch to the driver side and I took it into the dealer and the fixed it right.

The reason they all lean to the driver's side is due to the additional weight of the 4WD system.

 

For the minimal amount you'll need to crank the torsions bars to level it out, you shouldn't need to align it.  I have yet to align mine an I cranked them up to even out the whole truck.
