Modding "Chrome Clad" Wheels...

Howdy,

I have a stealth gray 2007 Sierra Classic which came with the P9Y "chrome clad" wheels which I really dislike. My plan was to buy this same truck with the painted gray steel wheels and then paint the wheels black leaving the center caps chrome.

 

Unfortunately, when I went to buy my truck, two dealers got into a fight over who was gonna sell me a truck and I wound up with much better equipped truck for less money! Unfortunately, I also would up with chrome clad wheels.

 

Has anyone ever peeled the chrome cladding off these wheels? Are they the same as the painted steel wheels underneath?

Why not just try and sell those wheels and buy the ones ya want?
