BOUGHT A NEW TRUCK, NEED HELP ASAP 04 DURAMAX

okay, i just bought a new truck at the auction, i didnt have much time to look at it, but it seemed okay, anyway its a 2004. but its the LB7 motor, i thought it was a LLY motor.

is this a big loss? what is the real big difference, the motor has a bit of a surge in it while revving up, so i might be able to refuse sale cause they gave it a 100%.

i bought it for $4000 less than the other ones were going for, there was less people around bidding, so i got a hell of a deal,. $25 900 (cdn) for a 04 crew cab short box, 100 000 kms.

anyways, basically is a LB7 a s**tty motor? i have a 2002 silverado with the LB7 and have had no problems with it, the injectors were done just before i bought it, so i have not had a problem. are the 04 lb7's better than the 02 lb7's?

is it the same power and torque as the 02 models?

LLY's are plagued with overheating issues and poor mileage compared to the LB7. The only issues I have heard with the LB7 is in regards to injectors going bad.

My cousin use to own an LB7 and now has an LLY. He liked his LB7 better......He said it got better mileage and had more get up than his LLY.
