Anyone order a new 2500HD yet?

I'm thinking about putting a "For Sale" sign on my 2005 Sierra HD and ordering the new '07. I tried to build one on the GMC site but it only showed the classic in that section. Has anyone ordered one yet and if so, how does pricing compare to the classic version? I believe the sticker on my was close to $49k. That's with the Duramax/Allison. The new truck would be set up the same way.

Thanks!

#2500 wont be at dealers until late Feburary and the Dmax in April some time. Better be sitting down if you still want a new Dmax the cost has gone up due to new emissions equiptment. Its about an $8000 option plus fuel is 10 cents more expensive aand you lost 1 mpg. Unless you tow a heavy load over 25000 miles a year the Dmax isnt worth it anymore.

I located pricing on the Edmounds site. An '07 with the options that I'd want would be about $52,xxx. Actually only $3k more than my '05. The diesel is worth it to me for the horsepower increase. The initial purchase might be more but it's alot easier and cheaper to add 100+hp.

Tom,

I had to get rid of my 03 1500 and I bought a 07 2500HD Classic. I was looking at the new 07 1500's but a fully loaded 1500 was over $40k!! That's more than the MSRP on the loaded 07 2500HD I bought (6.0L). The dealer I got mine from has the largest inventory of the new 07's in the area and he told me that the new HD's would be in the $50's. Given a loaded 07 1500 was in the low $40's I'm pretty sure that will be right. I went with an 07HD Classic because the platform is proven and the aftermarket is HUGE. Not to mention it's the first year of a a ground up redesign and I tend to wait until after the first year bugs/issues are addressed. I also believe that a 6spd tranny is going to be out there for the next model year.

I received a price for the dealer this morning. Sticker comes up to just under $54,000. Actually, it will probably be closer to $55k with the destination charge. Yes, they are getting kind of expensive! You wonder how much higher than can go but prices for everything are going up.

Agreed. When I looked at the sticker of a new 07 1500 I was shocked! Even the one I was looking at (white Z71 LT2) didn't have as much on it as my 07 classic HD and the MSRP was $1500 more! $55k is a lot of money!! With having my 02 Firehawk, my wife's 06 Explorer and a truck I just couldn't justify paying that much. Now the Firehawk will be paid off in 4 payments, but I just couldn't gt myself to pay that for a 1500 and the 2500 I did get is the same truck I wanted back in 03 but couldn't afford. I used my GM Supplier discount and that helped out a lot.

Granted this is just a personal opinion... but I prefer the look of the Classic 2500HD.... Plus its a crap load cheaper... I actually had one build for me and I am picking it up tomorrow!!!! 2007 Chevy Classic 2500HD CCLB, Black/Dark Charcoal, oh I can't wait

I got a hell of a deal on mine, 1% over invoice. Fully Loaded, every option except the deisel and snow plow... 6.0L premium LT3 package, 6 speaker Bose, 10-way power heated leather, sunroof... $37,000

Agreed. I got an 07 Classic HD as well except mine is a LT2 ECSB with the Bose, 6.0L, 4.10's, etc, etc. I used my GM Supplier discount plus the $2250 rebate and got a great deal.

My order is in with the dealer now. The sales manager should have an idea of when it will be built next week. I went with -

Crew cab, long bed with LMM

SLT package

Power sliding window

Power sunroof

Remote start

Locking tailgate

Camper mirrors

Trailer brake controller

17" wheels with 265/70/17s - probably for sale after I get the truck

Skid plates

Roof marker lights

Rear park assist

Trailer package

Heated washer fluid

Locking differential

Base radio with XM

I went with the base radio because it's going to be replaced anyway so I saved some $ there. Sticker price is $51,740. I'll be paying $47,962.15. Not to bad. My '05 will go up for sale when I know the build date for the new truck.

Is that a gas or TD?

That's with the Duramax (LMM) and 6 speed auto. I would say Allison transmission but I don't think they are made by Allison anymore.

When you know the build date, could you please post it. I would like to know when they are going to start building these. Thanks!!

A local guy just informed us that the dealer he works at just took delivery yesterday of their first 2007 2500HD. It's a extended cab 4x4 with the 6.0 and 6-speed auto.

Just letting you guys know they are arriving at dealers now! :flag:

I also did a "build your truck" and it sounds like you need to order a truck from the Pacific NW. I printed up a new (not available yet) 2500HD ext.cab short bed in LTZ trim custom 2 tone interior, power rear slider, power sun roof all the good options incl. DMax and 6 spd., skidplates. camper and tow package and of course the LTZ gives me all the top of the line options. It priced out at 47,??? MSRP I will have to look at that again when I get home, but I was suprised that it only came out about $3,000 more than the "Classic" For me the new body style has the classic beat in pretty much every way, especially all the added options. I never cared for the slanty headlights on the '03 and up. By the way the 6 spd. shown for the DMax is still an Allison 1000 according to the Chevrolet site.
