New Hop-Up!

1st hop up!!! any suggestions??? i want to help a bit in towing and maybe just a few mores horses.. haha i know i know im addicted!!! haha...

i was thinking maybe a bd chip??

Yea I would go for the chip first,they say the chip really makes these trucks run.I put a FIPK air intake on mine and love it.

Did you have the Amsoil air filter on before changing out to the FIPK? If so, was there an immediate noticible difference?

i have the amsoil filter on my truck and i like it i can tell the difference right away i just came back fromt the store got some westin nerf bars. guess i will attemp to put them on tonight! haha.. anyway yea i think i want the chip. i heard there was a new one come out 90hp instead of the 60hp.. has anyone did this yet????

The first order of business should be to get yourself a pyrometer and boost gauge. These really need to be on any stock diesel pickup that tows heavy, but are an absolute must when you start adding more fuel. They are a lot cheaper then replacing melted pistons.

As of right now, there are three actual "chips" that are at the top of the class for Duramax upgrades. There is the Duramaximzer, the VanAaken, and the Edge all of which go about things in their own seperate ways. While there are a few others, these three are probably the best suited for towing as them seem to keep the EGT's in check. Since you mentioned BD, that narrows it down to the VanAken and the Edge. The VanAaken has been out for a few months, and is available at a 70Hp rating. Might have to wait a bit to get these, but they are out there. The Edge box just became available in its full 90Hp rating, all the previous people were running 60Hp test versions. I think both boxes work very well, and you would be happy with either. But if you want the Edge, be prepared for a long wait.....

btw, VanAaken = BD Dynomite and Edge = BD EZ Amp. Same products, just wrapped in a BD package

Maxed all I had was the K&N that came out of my 6.0L in the stock houseing.I really like this FIPK setup K&N has for the 6.6.Makes the turbo sound and spoolup alot louder and faster thats what I was looking for

no not yet. i had to get a new stock trailer. so im going to hold out a bit longer. i hope to get one here in the next month or so... as soon as i do you guys will be the first to know..
