Newbie with a seat question

Hi everyone. New to the forum. Looks very interesting.

Here's my question:

Does anyone have any experience taking the driver's side seat out of a 1999 silverado. It's a power seat. One of the brackets on the bottom side is broken. If I can remove the seat (track and all) it looks like it would be easily repaired with a little welding. One little bracket is broken and my Chevy dealer offered to be gracious enough to replace the whole track unit for a mere $710.00.

It looks like four bolts, but in my experience, nothing is as easy as it looks.

Thanks.

You are right. It is only four bots. I think it is a 17 or 19 mm with 8 point socket. Unplug all the wires and pull the seat out.

Great, thanks!!

if welding doesn't work try hitting up a salvage yard for the part.

Got the seat out. Got the part welded back up and got the seat back in. We'll see how it holds. Went really well.

15mm on two front nuts. 11mm on two back bolts.

Thanks all.
