Battery & Driving Light Question

I'm planning on adding some 85Watt PIAA 520 Fogs to my truck and I'm wondering if the stock battery will do fine with them. My guess is yes but just wondering if anyone that knows batteries & lights could give me supporting info.

I'd only plan on turning the lights on while the truck was running of course. Next question is, if the stock battery is okay then would it be okay to run low beams, stock driving lights and the new fogs at the same time? Not sure if I'd really need to do that but just curious. Last thing I want to do is kill my battery with cool new lights. I still need to buy one of those nifty portably jumpstart delios.

thanks,

If you have the 145 amp alternator you should be fine. However, I'm pretty sure that when either the low or highbeams are ON, the DRL's go off automatically. Maybe someone can verify. If that's the case then you would be even better off.

Thanks guys...I'll check my alternator specs. Yeah, the factory driving lights go off automatically when high beams are on. I figure if I NEED to turn on the fogs I'll most likely also have my low beams on and not my highbeams. I was debating the whole PIAA 520 driving light vs. fog light deal. I don't do any off roading. Most of my driving is on the roads and sometimes we might be driving on dark wooded roads heading to campgrounds. I figured my high beams work pretty good for that so the fogs would make more sense for driving in bad weather like snow/rain or actually fog but we don't get a lot of fog here in Kansas.

thanks again...I'll check alternator specs.
