Factory Order Silverado Classic? Please Advise!

I'm having a tough time finding a Silverado 1500 Classic in my area with the options I want. One dealer was all set to make a factory order for me but two other dealers said this is not possible for the Classic. Somebody is wrong. Can anyone here give a definitive answer?

Way too late to order a "Classic" now.

As a matter of fact most,if not all,of the plants are done building the "Classic's" and have already switched over to building the GMT900's.

I tried ordering a classic 2500 with a duramax back in January was told that it was too late that production had stopped back in late '06 and the plants were being changed over for the new truck designs.
