Smokey Engine...

Well, today I whipped out the CorrosionX rust remover stuff and went on a rampage. I sprayed everything that had rust on it.....including the engine and some of it on the belt spinner. Now my engine is smoky once it is on for about 3 minutes and has a horrible squeeking coming from the belt....so I dowsed it with water from the hose and got a whole bunch of steam and it still didnt get the CorrosionX off. So should I just run the engine until all the smoke is gone(is this risky at all) and then spray some WD40 on the belt? Thanks!

I don't know about the smoke, but no wd40 on the belt. The easiest thing to do is to put Comet powdered cleanser on the belt and the close the hood and start the engine. The abrasives will clean the belt.
